What does Martial Arts Offense do?

This is the primary skill for the monk class.  This skills acts equivalent to both weapon lore and weapon.  Martial arts offense allows a character to

successfully fight barehanded. Continued training will improve damage, accuracy, and lower off balance time.

*Note: To use this skill, you must be in the appropriate fighting style.  To toggle, type: stance maoff

What does Combat Lore do?

Combat lore, in short, improves overall melee damage; no matter the weapon type one uses (or lack thereof). It also has the added bonus of decreasing retreat times.

What does Physical Development do?

Increases the amount of hit points acquired per level, as well as the rate said hit points regenerate damage.

 What does Mana Focus do?

Similar to physical development, but applied to spells.  Mana focus improves the amount of mana received each level, as well as the speed at which it returns after use.

How do I learn more spells?

First, you must learn the spell lore (vivo, geo, etc).  There are five training plateaus for each lore, based upon the five spell circles.  After so many trainings, a group (a circle) of spells will automatically be provided to the player.  Once this occurs, he or she can study the spell further.

What is the difference in stances?

Stances:

Aggressive stance - Maximum damage, minimum defense… cannot flee.

Normal stance - Default, no penalties, no bonuses.

Defensive stance - Maximum defense, minimum damage.

Styles:

Martial arts offense - Superior damage, but cannot be used in defensive stance.

Martial arts defense - Low damage, but can be used in defensive stance.

Brawling - Not largely used by monks, it allows anyone to use one an item that is not normally considered a weapon in a fight or box.

How do I lower my unbalance?

This varies depending upon the action.  The quickness base stat, as well as the haste spell will decrease the delay on nearly all actions.

Attacking: Learn the weapon lore/unarmed style higher (such as maoff)

Retreating: Learn combat lore

Also to be noted: Encumbering equipment and wearing heavy armor will increase your off balance time.

When I attack, how do I keep from missing so much?

Training in the weapon lore, or unarmed style (such as maoff) will yield the most obvious improvement in accuracy.  Wearing class appropriate armor is also advised.

IMPORTANT: Monks should not hold ANYTHING in their hands while in combat.

What skills should I learn first?

Physical development, Physical Development, and Physical Development.

Mana focus can be important, if you intend to use a great deal of magic or remort to a magic-using class.

Aside from those, the weapon lore/unarmed style and always learn such before combat lore. (Weapon lore has a greater impact  on damage than combat lore.)
