Novice Rules and Penalties
Upon entering the guild a young novice's mind, heart, and soul are very vulnerable. This is the time when they need guidance in what path they will follow for their lives. With this in mind we have set forth a few simple rules for the novices to follow to help them in keeping to their studies. We ask that the novices follow these rules at all times.
No drinking at anytime.
No tanking off more experienced players.
No challenging other players in battle.
Must stay celibate.
Novices will learn the value of these rules from their mentors and elders as they work towards the goal of graduating from novicehood. However if any of these rules are broken, the following penalties will be swiftly applied.
First offense will be a warning that is added to the novice's guild record.
The second to fourth offenses will be penalized by adding one to five levels to
novicehood, counting on the severity of the offense.
There will also be a penalty of 500 silver at the second offense.
A penalty of 1000 silver for the third offense, and a penalty of 1500 silver for the forth offense.
The guild title will also reflect that you are on probation.
Fifth offense will have the novice on strict probation and a fine of 5000 silver
to be paid to the guild fund.
Sixth offense will cause the novice to be exiled from the guild.
We have put these all in place to help our young monks in better learning the skills they will need in the world of Diogen. If there are any concerns on these, please see your Novice Guild Lieutenant or Elder.

Requirements of Novices
As novices grow and learn about the world and paths available to them as a monk, they will eventually be ready to graduate from novicehood. To determine that they are ready to fully become part of the guild, they will be asked to acquire certain skills, create a personal description of themselves, and pass a test of knowledge about the Land of Diogen.
The skills that will be required are the following:
Martial Arts Offense or Martial Arts Defense to level 35
Physical Development to level 25
Tactical Lore to level 10
Critical Strikes, Multiple Attacks, and Combat Lore to level 2
Once those have been reached, and they have also reached their 20th circle of learning, they will then be able to take their test of knowledge about the Land of Diogen. This test will consist of several small quests put together by the Novice Master, Guild Lieutenant, or Guild Mistress.
Upon completion of this test, the title of Novice will be lifted and they will be fully a part of the guild of monks.
